Need to Know

Stay connected with Parent Backpack

A Parent Backpack account provides parents, guardians, or contacts with a central place to sign in to do the following:

View your student's information including attendance, grades, lunch balances, and test scores
Apply to Special Focus schools and programs (Fine Arts Center, Career Centers)
Receive alerts and notifications about your students
View your student's school and contact information

School Protocols Regarding COVID-19

The GCS Parent Resource Guide of Destination Return to School is a summary of the district’s Re-Opening Plan in response to COVID-19.

Attendance Plan

GCS will implement 1 of 4 Attendance Plans in

response to COVID-19 spread conditions. Students are assigned a color group based on the first letter of their last name.

Need to Know

Student Items Needed Daily

Students should have their student ID on and visible each day. Face masks will be required of students in order to attend school. Lockers will not be issued this year, therefore, students will be permitted to a bookbag to house their school supplies and materials. Here is this year’s Supply List.

Dismissal and Car Tags

All students will receive a dismissal tag to use in the car line during afternoon dismissal as well as during emergency weather-related dismissals (ice/snow). Please make certain your car tag is displaced on your car’s dashboard. Otherwise, you will need to park when you can and enter the office to sign your student out of school.

Breakfast and Lunch

All students at GMA may receive breakfast at no cost. Lunch funds can be added to your student’s account using MySchoolBucks. The Free and Reduced Price Meal Application is available online. The online Free and Reduced Price Meal Application process is the quickest and most accurate method to apply for Free and Reduced Price Meals.

Student Handbook

Students and their parent/guardian should read the Greenville Middle Student Handbook in its entirety. Teachers will spend time reviewing the handbook with students during the first weeks of school. Students are expected to abide by all school and district rules and policies.

Bell Schedule

School doors open at 7:30 AM. Students are not permitted to arrive before this time. Car riders are encouraged to stagger their arrival, coming as close to 8:00 or later as possible. The school day begins promptly at 8:30 AM. Students should be in their 1st period class and ready to begin instruction by 8:30 AM.
