WHAT IS DUAL DELIVERY?

  • Flexibility
    • Opportunity for students to choose which modality they want to take a course
    • In-person students have the option to attend in person OR synchronously online and/or asynchronously if their instructor uploads their lectures
    • Online students stay online since they have not been vetted with vaccine requirement
  • Safety – if a student or one of their family members is exposed to covid, they don’t have to drop the course because they may miss some F2F classes

FACULTY PREPARATION

  • Only faculty who are DE Certified are eligible to teach Dual Delivery
  • Two hour in-person training
  • One hour online training
  • Continued support throughout the semester

SUPPORTING ENROLLMENT GROWTH STRATEGIES

  • Flexibility for students
    • Students won’t have to drop out of the class because of Covid exposure either themselves and/or family member
    • Scaffolding for getting students back on campus
    • Students with work schedules covering for co-workers and receiving inconsistent varied work hours
    • Students with covid who are not experiencing severe symptoms can still attend classes virtually
    • Allows for daily flexibility – traffic/childcare/elder care

INSTRUCTORS SETTING UP OWL

  • Each instructor is given an OWL
  • They are connected to their OWL via their smartphones
  • Faculty are given a checklist which covers the following:
    • Before spring 2022
    • Before your first dual delivery class
    • Before each class
    • Starting class
    • During class
    • After class

We are hoping to purchase ipads, as they can be connected via an ipad and there is an integrated white board
