Social bullying, sometimes referred to as relational bullying, involves hurting someone’s reputation or relationships.

CYBER BULLYING

It can include sharing personal or private information about someone else, causing embarrassment or humiliation.

Sending, posting, or sharing negative, harmful, false, or mean content about

someone else.

Cyberbullying is bullying that takes place over digital devices like phones, computers, and tablets.

    • Unexplainable injuries
    • Lost or destroyed clothing, books, electronics, or jewelry
    • Frequent headaches or stomach aches, feeling sick or faking illness
    • Changes in eating habits, such as suddenly skipping meals or binge eating
    • Difficulty sleeping or frequent nightmares
    • Declining grades, loss of interest in schoolwork, or not wanting to go to school
    • Sudden loss of friends or avoidance of social situations
    • Feelings of helplessness or decreased self esteem
    • Self-destructive behaviors such as running away from home, harming themselves, or talking about suicide

    • Get into physical or verbal fights
    • Have friends who bully others
    • Are increasingly aggressive
    • Frequent visits to the Principal’s office
    • Have unexplained extra money or new belongings
    • Blame others for their problems
    • Don’t accept responsibility for their actions
    • Are competitive and worry about their reputation or popularity

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

The ability to identify and regulate our own emotions, recognize other people's emotions and feel empathy towards them. These skills can help us communicate effectively and build healthy, productive relationships with others.

Self-awareness

Self-awareness is the ability to identify and understand one's own emotions and the impact we have on others.

Ex. Identify how the actions of others make us feel

Self-regulation

Once we are aware of our emotions, we can begin to manage them and keep disruptive emotions and impulses under control.

Ex. Take a moment to pause after someone does/says something hurtful

Social conscience

Social awareness is our ability to understand the emotions of others and a key component of this is empathy.
