Why am I here today?

I believe in the power and importance of creativity. “If we had more time to be creative then we would all be happier”

I love Nature. Its shapes, lines, and patterns are limitless, magical and inspiring

I am a lover of visual arts and music and I love talking about them both… as you will find out

I call myself a Simplist
I try to be a Minimalist
S-shaped curves and circles are my favourite shapes
I prefer to work in natural, recycled or salvaged materials. Mostly wood

Open discussion is very important for all of us. We will all learn more if we contribute a little

Treat others like you want to be treated = be good and kind to eachother

A simple recommendation…

Document or record EVERYTHING

I use Google Photos – here’s the chaos that is my mind.

As a maker, artist, designer or creative it is important to document as many of the stages of your work as possible.

You might find later that you want to see something you did and how you did it.

Take photos often. If you want, make sketches.

Take photos of your own work

Take photos of things that inspire you

If you are so unhappy with your work that you want to get rid of it then TAKE A PHOTO FIRST

Look back at your photos

Use the time to reflect. Make plans.

Question yourself

Praise yourself

Show others.

Let them as questions

Develop

Progress

Think

Re-think

Enjoy.

There will be many times that are frustrating.

There will be things that go wrong. VERY wrong.

Always give yourself credit for trying

Be proud for allowing yourself to fail. This is a huge and difficult lesson

Attack every hill (obstacle)

Try anything twice. Especially in the creative world.

Be good. Be kind. Be the person you have always wanted to be.

Treat others as you would like to be treated.

Use your Sketchbooks:

Write yourself notes
Draw quick ideas
Cut and paste interesting things that you find – pictures from magazines, new artists, something that someone said
Use it as your way of taking your thoughts/ ideas/ hopes and putting them on paper.
It can become a reference book of your thoughts and ideas
