Reducing the Lung Health Burden of the Climate Crisis
Purpose
Climate change is exacerbating long-standing air quality issues, as record heatwaves, droughts and wildfires become commonplace. Exposure to unhealthy air causes complications for the 34 million people in the U.S. who are living with lung disease. The American Lung Association is committed to addressing this critical public health need.
Background
Reducing the Lung Health Burden of the Climate Crisis is a public health intervention designed to decrease the negative impact that poor air quality has on lung health and address the associated health disparities faced by marginalized communities.
16%

Questions for January webinar
Do school nurses and school staff get any training about air quality or climate change currently? Resources?
What will encourage nurses to join the webinar and learn about air quality and lung health?
What aspects should we make sure to focus on? What not to focus on?
