Lauren Kaufman is an experienced attorney committed to empowering physicians through their employment agreements. She has been a practicing attorney for more than 10 years, with a primary focus on healthcare law and physician employment contracts for the last 4 years. She has reviewed thousands of physician contracts, and negotiated with numerous major health systems, private practices, and academic centers.
Originally from Minnesota, she received her undergraduate degree from Augustana College and her law degree from the University of South Dakota School of Law, where she graduated with High Honors. Her prior legal experience includes clerking for the Third Judicial Circuit of South Dakota, Deputy Public Defender at the Minnehaha County Public Defender’s Office, Assistant Public Defender at the Bexar County Public Defender’s Office, and Staff Attorney at the American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada in Las Vegas.

This is our �standard contract …
Employer: �I was able to pass that along to our VP and legal counsel. Unfortunately, we would not be able to match that base and RVU adjustment.
The contract we offered to Dr. [XXXXXX] is the contract we offer to all of our employed physicians. It has been reviewed and vetted by scores of attorneys over the past 15 years and we typically do not make changes.
This having been said, we did provide a fairly significant and rare accommodation to Dr. [XXXXXX] in the form of a relaxed restrictive covenant, as we were advised that was an important provision for him
