Entwistle School took a plain wall and turned it into possibilities. This space will inform creative writing, plays, puppet shows, wonder, relaxation and imagination. It took four days to transform this space and will impact students for a lifetime.

Businesses and community members came together in these rural settings and raised funds for these murals to come alive. Paired with a NFP and a dream we can work together to set a crowdfunding goal for your project. Funds raised for these murals went over the goal and spilled into other community art initiatives. Over 10, 000 has been raised for three Pembina School with just two of these murals.

Place Making
Placemaking is a buzzword for taking an otherwise plain, under-used space and making it a spot.
The kind of spot people enjoy instead of avoid.
I participated in a mural competition that took a whole parkade and turned it into a walking gallery by painting the pillars.
I also transformed what the hospital called “The Pit” (as in smokers pit) from framed outdoor carpets on their walls to this serene mountainscape. The cafeteria see’s much more visitors now.

Think of your mural like a renovation. It’s built with physical labour, a skilled hand and a trained mind. Prices reflect that. The sliding scale on rate is based on difficulty of each project.
That being said, like renovations, there are ways to work within your budget.
Icons, a pre-prepped wall, simplified design, artistic freedom all come into play.
If you want a totally custom mural that will last you years to come commit to a bigger budget, but if you have an eye sore sea can in your garden that just needs some paint let me know your budget and I can let you know what we can do.
If you plan on getting a grant to cover your mural costs please contact me about the scope of the project beforehand.
Other costs look like road permits, equipment rentals, accommodations, GST.
Getting Started
The deposit fee covers 2-3 digital designs. This is non-refundable but does go towards the final total if you choose to transform your space.
I use a digital preview so you can see your mural real time. Then paint it. In this example 3 designs were sent to Telus and two revisions were made among their board.
An Agreement will always be in place before any work starts, including digital design.
At this time size, substrate, ground surface, varnish, color palette and more are considered. An itemized quote will be given for each design.
Street Art Icons;
An icon is something I can come out and get done in 1-2 days on a surface that is prepped already. This means sanded, primed and background colour painted already. This is done with aerosols on surfaces up to 10x15 and have a day rate of $1200, paint inclusive. You can provide a theme in advance. This will be up to the artist on how it is interpreted and painted. Folks in the past will have me out to paint 8’x8’ panels that they can keep while providing the panels.
