WHAT IS OUR INSPIRATION?

  • For most of history, “seasons” have been steady markers of life, shaping core activities such as farming, festivals, and our sense of time passing
  • But human-driven change is disrupting these rhythms, giving rise to new patterns like “haze season” and increasingly erratic rain and flood patterns
  • At the same time, it’s becoming harder to spark genuine care for the environment and motivate action
  • Art is a powerful tool for communication and advocacy
  • So, we aim to explore whether artistic portrayals of changing seasons can reconnect people with nature and inspire action

WHAT ARE WE TRYING TO DO?

Bring together artists, activists, and environmental researchers to create ten artworks that reflect different kinds of seasonal change, grounded in real-world research.

Host online networking events and asynchornous “match-making” activities to facilitate artists, activists, and researchers collaboration.

Support commissioned artists to travel to Kuala Lumpur for the exhibition launch and a knowledge-sharing workshop.

Exhibit the artworks in Kuala Lumpur, with the potential to expand to more locations if we secure extra funding!
