Solo flight is not guaranteed at the Academy. However, if a student meets the requirements for a solo flight, power and all glider students must have a FAA student pilot’s certificate. In addition to this certificate Power students must also have a FAA Class 3 Medical. Instructions for obtaining these FAA documents is available for download on the Documents Tab.
The process to obtain the FAA documents can take 3 to 4 weeks so it is best to start this at the time of registration.
For all Glider and Power Students you must complete the entries to qualify you as a solo pilot in WMIRS. We will assist you to do this after you arrive at the Academy.
