Thank you for your interest in presenting at Archaea Power Hour! We're excited to announce that we have merged our previously separate initiatives, APH-Americas and APH-Europe, into a unified platform that better reflects our mission to strengthen and grow a diverse archaea community worldwide via informal and inclusive seminars highlighting the diversity of perspectives, research, education, and outreach in the archaea research community.
We are now accepting abstract submissions from archaea researchers without any geographical restrictions. Whether you're an undergraduate student or a tenured professor, we welcome your abstract submissions! In the past, we have featured presentations on exciting findings in archaea research, research proposals, community resources, and educational outreach initiatives. We particularly encourage submissions from undergraduates, graduate students, and early career researchers.
Our virtual seminars will be held the second Wednesday of each month during the academic year. Each seminar will consist of two presentations and one networking session. Talks are 10-12 minutes long, with 3 minutes designated for questions and discussion. To attempt to accommodate researchers from various time zones seminars will be held at 14:00 UTC, which corresponds to 4-5 pm CET, 10-11 am EST, and 7-8 am PST. The majority of talks are recorded so APH members can view asynchronously and join the discussion on our Slack channel!
IMPORTANT: If you submit an abstract for the Spring 2025 APH session, email archaeaPH@gmail.com and the planning committee will contact you later in 2024 about your availability.
If you anticipate needing any type of accommodation or translation assistance (English, Spanish, Portuguese or French) before or during the meetings, just let us know here, or by reaching out to archaeaPH@gmail.com!
