I came up with an idea of how to share independent books regularly on my Instagram, TikTok, and blog (@virgoreader /
virgoreader.com): I will share the books in group posts (a carousel on Instagram, a video on TikTok) - sharing the covers, authors, release dates (if applicable), and summaries.
Before I felt I couldn't say "yes" to receiving books because I worried I couldn't promise to read them within a certain timeframe, since I'm such a mood reader - but this way it can draw potential readers and get your books out there.
Notes:
1. If you send me a physical copy I WILL NOT trash your book on IG/TikTok, even if it didn't work for me. I will still put it in a round up.
2. Books will be posted on my TikTok/blog weekly (I'm thinking a Sunday Spotlight for Indie Books) but with Instagram, I plan my posts a few weeks in advance so I may do monthly or 2x a month posts within my feed - but a separate story highlight for these spotlights.
3. If I do giveaways of books I have received, I will post them first and pay for all shipping. (For example: a social post with 5 books, describing each one's plot. At the end - "if you want to win these books just leave a comment below saying which you're most excited about" or something to that effect. It gives face time to your books on my channel and hopefully on someone else's as well when they're excited to receive them)
4. I will tag authors in posts on IG and in the pinned comment on TikTok. I can link to your website in my blog post.
