Petition to Make Mass Ave South Safer
Dear Mayor Walsh and Chief of Streets, Chris Osgood:
We ask that you prioritize an immediate redesign of Mass Ave between Columbia Road and Harrison Ave that centers safety and accessibility for people walking, biking and taking public transportation. This corridor continues to have a high rate of crashes and injuries and deserves the same Vision Zero treatment that Mass Ave got in the Back Bay Area. We support a design that encourages people of all ages and abilities to walk and bike and road design elements including protected bike lanes and safer and more frequent pedestrian crossings. Efforts to redesign the street must also be paired with other measures to improve public safety in this area.
Why is making Mass Ave safer for cyclists and pedestrians important to you?
