A.I. Retreat Expression of Interest
Last year I invited a diverse group of people—designers, artists, academics, writers and futurists—on a 4 day retreat to explore the emerging field of Artificial Intelligence, and the effects it will have on society. We stayed at the wonderful Juvet Hotel, nestled in the forests and mountains of Norway. If you know your sci-fi, it's the place Ex Machina was filmed.

The event was a huge success. We hiked to mountain glaciers, we watched the northern lights dance across the midnight sky, we ate Michelin quality food picked from the neighbours farm, and we talked about A.I. — a lot.

The event was so much fun, I immediately booked a repeat visit for this year (17th-20th September). I'm keen to open the event up to as wide and diverse group of voices as possible. After all, we're not going to build a more inclusive, techno-humanist future, based on the opinions of a small number of Computer Scientists and Silicon Valley Industrialists. As such I'm currently taking expressions of interest from people keen in joining the retreat.

What Will it Cost?
We have a limited number of spots, with shared rooms starting at £1,200. As well as covering food and accommodation, these spots also help fund a small number of subsidised spaces, at just £550. You'll need to make your own way there, so you'll also need to budget for flights and transport.
