This exhibition imagines a future society in which nunchi—the ability to read social cues and atmosphere, which is so important in human society—is combined with one of the most animalistic sensory organs through future technology. In this future, there are no longer any people without nunchi.

Nunchi Antenna is a social-sensory extension device worn on the user’s head. Through electrical signals, it amplifies the functions of the brain’s TPJ and medial prefrontal cortex, helping the user quickly detect subtle bodily signals and shifts in the surrounding atmosphere during conversation.

This device works not only in offline conversations but also in online social life. Before posting a photo or text on social media, users wearing the Nunchi Antenna become highly sensitive to current trends, reactions, likes, and the hidden intentions behind other people’s posts. They instinctively understand whether a certain response is appropriate, and what kind of post would be considered socially aware or well-timed.
