If you advocate for a stray animal you found, you must keep it for at least 3 days to look for the owner before we can assist. Alert your local animal control, and scan the dog for a microchip for free at any vet office. Have you legally possessed this dog for at least three days after finding it as a stray, or has the rightful owner officially relinquished ownership to you? Have you alerted your local animal control?

Will you ensure the dog receives its first DHPP and Bordetella vaccines before the intake appointment? Please note that these vaccinations must not be sourced from a feed store. If you require assistance, we can provide the vaccinations at least one week before your appointment, but you will need to bring the dog to our Friendswood location for the shots. At the intake appointment, you must present a paper copy of the vaccination records to confirm that the vaccinations have been completed.
*
The initial intake appointment, it is essential that the person fostering the dog bring it to our office in Friendswood during weekday business hours. The appointment will last approximately 1 hours, and we must meet and speak directly with the individual fostering the dog. We cannot allow a different transporter to bring the dog. Are you able to comply with this requirement?
*

Understand that you must foster the dog until it is adopted. There will not be an alternative placement or backup option for the mother and puppies. This is a collaborative effort, and the duration of fostering can vary, especially with pregnant or nursing mothers and their puppies, which requires a minimum commitment of four months. After weaning, the time it takes for an adult dog to be adopted may extend further, depending on factors such as the dog's adoptability, the socialization you provide, and the quality of the photos and videos you submit.

Are you prepared to foster this dog indefinitely in a clean, safe, social, and structured environment? Do you agree to maintain a positive approach without expressing grievances to the rescue team?

*
If there is any chance you will want to keep this dog, please do not request an appt. Appts are very limited, and we want to help dogs that do not already have homes :) If you end up wanting to keep the dog, you will have to pay an adoption fee to help cover medical expenses the rescue has paid for. Depending on the point in the process, the dog may already have been adopted to another family and you will no longer be able to keep it. Keeping the dog is not always a guarantee once it comes into our program.

Do you understand?

Which city will you be fostering the dog in, and how many minutes is that location from Friendswood, Texas? We primarily partner with individuals within a 45-minute drive of our Friendswood office. This proximity is necessary to facilitate attendance at required behavior classes and medical appointments.

Is this a pregnant mother? If so, please provide a picture of her and specify how long she has been in your care. This information will help us estimate her due date. *

What City will the dog be fostered in and how many minutes is it away from Friendswood, Texas?

We are primarily work with people who live 45 minutes from our office in Friendswood since it becomes too difficult for those people to attend behavior classes, medical appts, etc. Please note - you will be expected to drive to Friendswood and our various vet partners multiple times. 3-4 times for medical appts and at least 2 required training classes.
*

Dogs not compatible with other dogs are unsuitable for our program. Requesting an appointment while aware that the dog does not get along with other dogs will result in a wasted appointment slot. If you are still determining the dog's behavior around other dogs, we recommend finding resources to test its interactions with them safely.

If you have any other dogs and/or pets in the home, please describe their sex, breed, age, and any information in regards to their temperament.  Please share specific scenarios (e.g., the dog lives peacefully with a Chihuahua or fostered with another sizeable male dog) or interactions demonstrating this dog's friendliness with other dogs.

*

If the dog requires major medical care (e.g., costing between $500 and $1500), are you willing to organize a fundraiser, such as a social media campaign, garage sale, or bake sale?

*
Are there any observable or known medical needs?
*
What medical has already been completed, if any?
*
Do you understand that if you miss a scheduled surgery appointment for your foster dog, you will be responsible for a $50 no-show fee per appointment?
*

Can you meet the following requirements for fostering and promoting the adoption of your foster dog? Maintaining open communication with the Adoption Coordinator assigned to you is crucial. You must provide high-quality pictures and videos of the foster dog inside your home, ensuring the content is clear and well-prepared. This is vital for the dog's adoption prospects, especially for long-distance adoptions where visual impressions are crucial. We recommend using an iPhone or Google Pixel or enlisting a friend with one to achieve the best quality. If this is impossible, you must travel to Friendswood for a dedicated content creation appointment and any other scheduled visits.

*

Please send at least 6 high-quality "adopt me" photos of the dog to monica@threelittlepittiesrescue.org. Include the dog's name in the subject line of your email. Refer to the sample photos provided for guidance on quality and composition. We can only schedule your appointment once we receive these photos.
