"Reaching for Air" is a collaboration between The Salt Lake Tribune and KUER that seeks to amplify the narratives of how air quality has impacted the lives of residents who call the west side of the Salt Lake Valley home.
Your story will be attached to an interactive air quality map of the valley. There are many air quality maps but none of them tell the story of those who live in the areas hit the hardest by pollution. The goal of the project is to spark concrete change through empowering west side voices and highlight the air quality discrepancies.
"Reaching for Air" is funded by the Brown Institute for Media Innovation, a partnership between Stanford University’s School of Engineering and Columbia Journalism School.
