Recently, the White House’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) released a federal register notice that offers the public the opportunity to comment on how the government collects and reports on race and ethnicity data.

Specifically, the public has the opportunity to comment on potential revisions to OMB 1997 standards on collecting and reporting on race and ethnicity data in the following areas:
· The use of separate questions measuring race and ethnicity and question phrasing;
· The classification of a Middle Eastern and North African group and reporting category;
· The description of the intended use of minimum reporting categories; and
· Terminology used for race and ethnicity classifications.
