BITS & PIECES | Dipping into the tactile art forms of collage art and communicating a feeling or story through materials and texture
BUILDING A CREATIVITY-BUILDING PRACTICE | Designing and establishing an intentional practice of art-making and creativity-building that can become a gentle ritual we can look forward to and rely on. Strengthening our creativity by exercising our imagination a little bit each day.
FOUND WORDS | Exploring the art of found words poetry and collage, we'll respond to prompts and all participants will receive a packet of source clippings from various print materials sent to them ahead of time (or digitally if tuning in from abroad).
HOGWARTS EXPRESS | Playful, geeky prompts and creative antics centered around the world of Harry Potter.
HOW WE HUE | Pulling from the color palettes all around us, exploring color as emotion and symbolism, and tapping into our personal color palette
JOURNAL-ISMS | A gentle time of journaling (written or art), responding to different prompts that spur on thought, revisit memories, and enhance them on the page.
LETTERLY MATTERS | The art of letter writing, telling stories through the post, enhancing snail mail, and envelope art
LIGHT & DARK | A 2-part retreat where we delve into the loveliness of light and the depth of darkness, taking inspiration from visual works and written words to draw out symbolism and imagery.
LITERARILY | Pulling inspiration from literary works and illustrations to envision and create something new (a companion to Storybookish)
MIDDLE EARTH | Imaginative prompts centered around J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy world of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.
MUSICALITY | Responding to a song or melody, taking note of its overall feeling, rhythm, and movement to pour into your own creation
PORTRAIT | Explore different ways of creating a portrait (visual, written, or composed) of persons, places, and things
SILLINESS | Playful, game-like prompts that are all about entertaining the ridiculous, making others (and ourselves!) laugh, and letting ourselves be goofy with our creativity.
SENTENCE-STRINGS | Stringing together words in new ways, playing with phraseology, and figurative language
SKETCHBOOK | Exploring unexpected routes to ideation, translating concepts to imagery, and the art of adding details
TEND | Exploring creativity as an affirming practice and way to take care and tend to ourselves in meaningful ways
TOLD BY HANDS | At the intersection of art and language, we'll draw inspiration from both tactile materials and mix them with words to explore multimedia art
VISUAL STORYTELLING | Telling a story without words through imagery, color, and texture

SPRING | Seasonal theme of 'Spring', soaking up its energy through a series of prompts to help us connect our creativity with the vibrant, colorful personality of the season.
