Participating Teachers will: • Have fun learning with your students through hands-on environmental lessons conducted by skilled gardeners. • Receive materials with information about trees and environmental education that can be used to teach state content standards. • Relax and enjoy the great outdoors in the month of March.
Third- through Fifth-Grade Students will:• Enjoy hands-on environmental lessons at the park conducted by local environmental experts.• Tour the County museum and learn about the rich history of our valley. • Help plant a tree at Mooney Grove for the restoration of the park. • Learn how to plant trees properly, and be given their own tree to take home and plant• Bring a sack lunch to enjoy at the park.• Be prepared to have fun and get dirty.
Once we’ve confirmed your reservation, an agenda listing the activities and a map of the park will be sent to you. Please have students bring a pencil and a sack lunch.
