Thank you for volunteering to work at an early voting location. Each shift is two hours long and you can work as many shifts as you want!
Click here to find open shifts by area of town before you choose a shift. There are two spots at busy polls or polls with multiple entrances like W Gray Metropolitan Multi Service Center, SPJST Lodge, Moody Park, Northeast Multi Service Center, Sunnyside, etc.
We will send an email with details about where you can pick up push cards (little flyers.)
Most shifts are 7 am-9am, 11 am-1 pm and 5 pm-7 pm. Other times tend to be slow except the first two days and last two days of early voting.
Some polls require two people per shift because there are two or more entrances. What to do: Convince/remind people to vote NO to HISD bonds at the bottom of their ballot. Pass out the Vote No to HISD Bonds push cards literature. If you are at a poll where it is hard to talk to voters, grab a vote no sign that is at the polling location (off the stake) and hold it up as people walk in or drive by. Put it back when you are done.
What is the 100 ft line: You cannot canvass (talk about candidates) to people inside the 100 ft line of the poll. This will be marked with a sign. If you are wearing a vote no t-shirt or button, bring a jacket or t shirt to cover it when you need to go inside to use the bathroom.
Stay tuned for the Election Day Sign Up Sheet coming soon.
