LISD Elementary App Store: Parent Request for App to be Added

The purpose of this list is to provide a selection of apps for LISD Elementary Students that emphasize the educational value of the iPad and to protect our students from apps that allow for things such as cyberbullying and open chat. This does not replace the need for parent education, teacher/staff monitoring, the use of parental restrictions, or digital citizenship education.

For example: "Clash of Clans" is not in the LISD Elementary App Store because of the widespread negative impact of the open chat feature between students.

The criteria for inclusion of an app in the LISD Elementary App Store are:
1)It is a free app. No paid apps will be included unless a campus purchases the app for a whole grade level or the whole school.
2)The app has educational value.
3)The Terms of Use of the app allow for use by students under the age of 13.

Although there are many factors that will impact the processing of this request, our goal is to make monthly updates. In general, submissions entered in by the 10th of each month will be processed by the 15th of each month.
