OVRD 2020 Early Birdy Tournament - Volunteer Signup
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Ottawa Valley Roller Derby's 2020 Early Birdy Tournament!
Please find a list of available jobs and scheduling below, and select all that would be of interest to you. A detailed schedule, including your shift and additional information will be sent out once finalized.
**Please note, it is MANDATORY that all OVRD league members complete at least 2 volunteer and/or NSO shifts (total of 4 hours). For those league members who will also be participating in the tournament as a skater a 1-hour buffer will be factored into the schedule to allow skaters to time to prepare before games.

What types of job would you be interested in doing? (Select all that apply; Please try and select positions that you have done in the past or are comfortable doing)
Set-up / Tear-down (General set-up - track, merch tables, signage etc.; should be able to lift ~50 lbs)
Registration (Greet and check in teams and volunteers; have them sign necessary documents; provide relevant information to players and volunteers)
Front Door (Greet and check in spectators, sell tickets (cash and square reader), tear down table at end of day etc.)
Security (Monitor entrance/exit, between stands and beer garden; ensure no alcohol leaves beer garde; report security issues)
Merch Table (Sell OVRD merch (cash and square reader), tear down table at end of day)
Canteen (Sell food and snacks (cash and square reader), tear down table at end of day)
Bartender (Sell beer/drinks (cash and square reader); MUST have Smart Serve certification; tear down bar at end of day))
"Ask Me About Derby" (Walk around and answer questions about roller derby (e.g. game play, getting involved); hand out flyers )
General/Floater (Maintain the volunteer/official food room; assist with any volunteer position as needed)
Driver (Must have own car; be available to pick up and drop off equipment/supplies as needed)
Track Repair (Monitor track condition during games and quickly repair damage between jams)

Friday, March 20 - afternoon (3 pm - 5 pm; main set up)
Friday, March 20 - evening (5 pm - 7 pm; all positions)
Friday, March 20 - evening (7 pm - 10 pm; all volunteer positions and tear-down)
Saturday, March 21 - morning (9 am - 11 am; all positions including general set up)
Saturday, March 21 - mid-day (11 am - 1 pm; all positions)
Saturday, March 21 - afternoon (1 pm - 3 pm; all positions)
Saturday March 21 - afternoon (3 pm - 5 pm; all positions)
Saturday March 21 - evening (5 pm - 8 pm: all positions including tear-down)
Sunday, March 22 - morning (10 am - 12 pm, all positions including general set up)
Sunday, March 22 - mid-day (12 pm - 2 pm; all positions)
Sunday, March 22 - afternoon (2 pm - 5 pm; including final tear-down)
