Gratitude for Landowners Along the SHT
While much of the Superior Hiking Trail passes through federal, state, county, and city lands, the SHT also crosses over 80 parcels of private land as it winds its way through the boreal forests of northeastern Minnesota.

Dozens of gracious landowners have granted the Superior Hiking Trail Association permission to allow the Trail to access and cross their properties -- a few have even allowed campsites on their lands. Without the generosity and support of these landowners, the SHT experience would look and feel very different. Losing their support can result in expensive and less optimal reroutes that can take many years to build, or even a permanent gap in the Trail.

With this form, we hope to gather comments and messages of gratitude from SHT users like to share with our private landowners to thank them for permitting the Trail to enjoy access to their lands. We may send your comments directly, or share them through our online, electronic, and/or print communications.

In addition to your comments here, please continue to be good stewards of the SHT by staying on the Trail at all times, practicing Leave No Trace, and checking Trail Conditions (superiorhiking.org/trail-conditions) before you go.

Please contact the Superior Hiking Trail Association at info@superiorhiking.org with any questions. Thank you!
