This scholarship recognizes the need for school library paraprofessionals who reflect the diversity of California’s multicultural, multilingual population.
Applicants must:
- be a current CSLA member
- be from a traditionally underrepresented group.
- be working in a classified position in the library field.
- be enrolled in a community college program for school library technical service certification.
One scholarship of $1,000 will be given.
Two letters of recommendation and a college transcript or other enrollment verification must be submitted. Candidates for letters of recommendation include current supervisor, course instructor, classroom teacher, or principal. Email the materials to

The recipient will be expected to attend the CSLA 2021 Virtual State Conference FEBRUARY 11-12 and 19-20, 2021, and will be recognized at the Membership Meeting on THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2021. Costs associated with this attendance are not included in the award.
