ENRICHMENT CLASS COURSE DESCRIPTIONS. Session THREE starts the week of 2/25 and ends the week of 5/3/2019.
ENRICHMENT AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Enrichment classes will be offered every day that school is in session except the following days where there will be a noon dismissal before a holiday break and last day of school:

o Monday - Friday, November 5-9 Parent/Teacher Conference Week
o Wednesday, November 21st
o Friday, December 21st
o Friday, March 8-15
o Monday - Monday, April 15-22 Easter Break

If school is not in session, there will be no Extended Day or Enrichment Classes.

Welcome to St. John XXIII Catholic School’s Enrichment Program! We sincerely hope that this service will be a rewarding experience for both you and your child(ren).

For your convenience, 2 billing cycles are available for all Enrichment Classes; please let the finance department know in advance if you want 2 billing cycles. All classes will be billed through your FACTS account.

REFUNDS - We cannot offer any refunds for Enrichment Classes. If a student wants to register when an Enrichment Class has already started, this is permitted. However, the fee amount for the class will remain the same. We cannot offer any pro-rated fees for late entry or dropping the class before the Session ends.

GOLF SQUAD - CLOSED K-8 Grade, 2:45 - 3:45 pm, $207 for Session. MONDAYS. Starting 2/25 thru 4/29/2019
MONDAYS - CLOSED - Golf Squad after school enrichment program is for both new and continuing students and provides weekly opportunities for your child to learn social skills required to enjoy golf, the clubs, and golf course (vocabulary, etiquette, rules, history, etc.) all under the instruction of a PGA Professional. Golf is a very challenging and fun sport that can lead to college scholarships. So start early and start now...boys and girls! Even if your child already plays, it is great to get weekly, convenient lessons from the pro! All equipment provided. **minimum 6 students, maximum 15 students.
TENNIS with SETH KOREY - K-1 AND 2-5th Grade, 2:45 - 3:45 pm, $135 for session. TUESDAYS. Starting 2/26 thru 4/30/2019. Tennis will be held at the outside basketball court by the gym.
TUESDAYS - Clinics are designed to develop players on all levels, from the fundamental skills needed at beginner level to the advanced stroke technique and match play skills required for tournament players. Students will learn stroke technique on all tennis strokes from serves to volleys and match play. **minimum 6 students, maximum 20 students.
DRAMA CLUB - CLOSED - K-8th Grade, 2:45 - 3:45 pm, $210 for session. TUESDAYS. Starting 2/26 thru 4/30/2019.
TUESDAYS - CLOSED-MAXIMUM AMT OF STUDENTS REGISTERED. Our after school Drama Club will be putting on the play, Character Matters, for Session 3, our final session of the school year. The play performance will be at the end of the session. The director is looking for enthusiastic students to round out their cast of famous fairy tale characters. The play content teaches valuable life lessons and allows each student a staring role! Here is a short synopsis of the play: "Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Fairy Tale Advice Council!" Led by Rapunzel, a Handsome Prince, and a (recovering) Wicked Witch, the council offers help in character-building to famous folk creatures. In this bestselling, non-preachy show, the Big Bad Wolf learns the Golden Rule, Cinderella gets help in managing her anger, and Jack and the Giant discover their differences are cool. A wonderful play for students of all ages. **minimum 8 students, maximum 24 students.
YOUNG REMBRANDTS - K-4th Grade, 2:45-3:45 pm. $104 for session. WEDNESDAYS. Starts 2/27 thru 5/1/2019.
WEDNESDAYS - Young Rembrandts teaches drawing with a see-then-do method that all kids can succeed with regardless of artistic ability. We encourage student's enthusiasm for art by giving them basic drawing skills, art techniques and art vocabulary. This is a great class for beginning artists and all who love to draw. We provide all materials and teach new lessons in a positive and nurturing environment, which brings out the best in each child. Children develop increased art abilities, learning skills, self-confidence and self-esteem. **minimum 6 students, maximum 17 students.
BRICKS4KIDZ - CLOSED -K-4th Grade, 2:45-3:45 pm. $160 for Session. WEDNESDAYS. Starts 2/27 thru 5/1/2019.
WEDNESDAYS - CLOSED - Bricks4Kidz after school classes build on the universal popularity of LEGO bricks to deliver a high quality of educational play. Students construct a new model each week based on exciting themes; from space to sports, amusement parks to animals. They will learn about everything from gears, torque and friction, to geography, space exploration, weather and MORE! Students will construct one-of-a-kind models with a partner with free-play time rounding out the hour, giving kids an opportunity to develop their creativity. **minimum 8 students, maximum 24 students.
HSPT TUTORING - 7-8th Grade, 3:15-5:15 (& 6:15) pm. $561 for instructional sessions + practice tests. THURSDAYS. Starts September 13th thru January.
THURSDAYS - HSPT Tutoring - Learn from the best, Jason Catanese has been preparing students for the HSPT exam, interview, and essays for Catholic High Schools in Phoenix for over 6 years. There will be approx 8-10 instructional sessions that would be 2 hours in length on Thursday afternoons, 3:15p.m. - 5:15 p.m. HSPT will start September 13th thru January. Also included are testing sessions that would consist of students taking HSPT practice tests to simulate a real testing environment to get students ready for testing day. Of the 8-10 classes offered, three practice tests would be 3 hours from 3:15 - 6:15 pm. **minimum 10 students, maximum 24.
ASL CLUB (American Sign Language) - 2-8th Grade, 3:00-3:45 pm. $129 for Session. THURSDAYS. Starts 2/28 thru 5/2/2019.
THURSDAYS - ASL CLUB - Come join the fun again with Mrs. Zander and build your skills as we increase our sign vocabulary even more through fun games, prayer songs and "signed only" conversations!! Learning sign language has been shown to help children retain information better, as well as strengthening a child's vocabulary, spelling, and reading skills. **minimum 8 students, maximum 20.
i9 SPORTS - K-4th Grade, 2:45 - 3:45 pm. $139 for Session. THURSDAYS. Starts 2/28 thru 5/2/2019.
THURSDAYS - Arin Finger, the owner of i9 Sports will be instructing all classes at SJXXIII. Programs focus on learning basic fundamentals of each sport in a fun and safe environment. Our programs will include Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Flag Football, Rec Games and Water Games throughout the school year. i9 Sports will ensure your young athlete(s) have a blast and also progress in their sport skills. This Session of i9 Sports will concentrate on various Soccer and Flag Football skills/games. All athletes will receive a participation t-shirt with the registration fee. Come join the fun! **minimum 6 students, maximum 20.
CRAZY, COOL SCIENCE - K-5th Grade, 12:30 - 1:30 pm. $230 for session. FRIDAYS. Starts 3/1 thru 5/3/2019.
FRIDAYS - Does science feel intimidating, overwhelming, or boring to your child? Never again will you hear anything about science other than how fun it is and how much your child loves it! Because SCIENCE IS CRAZY COOL! In Crazy, Cool Science we take a hands on, enthusiastic, mind-blowing approach! We learn through conducting our own experiaments and developing critical thinking skills through the steps of the scientific method. And...we even BLOW STUFF UP!!! Your child won't even realize they are learning because it just feels like exciting exploration! NEW LABS every Session! **minimum 10 students, maximum 28 students (2 instructors are available if max. students register)
CHEER - K-2nd Grade, 12:30-1:10 pm (40 min. class) & 3-6th, 1:15-2:00 pm. $175 for session (45 min. class). FRIDAYS. Starts 3/1 thru 5/3/2019.
FRIDAYS - Arizona Instruction has been serving students in the Valley for over 28 years! This cheer class builds basic cheer-leading abilities. The cheerleaders will learn crowd encouragement skills, chants, arm angles, pom routines, jumps, basic tumbling and much more! An emphasis is also placed on positive leadership development. Our cheer class will allow each child to build skills they will need for future cheer-leading endeavors and have a ton of fun building relationships and working with the other squad members as a team. The cheerleaders will end the year with a cheer and pom performance! **minimum 8 students, maximum 24 students.
