FRIENDS OF THE ARTS MEMBERSHIP & VOLUNTEER FORM 2020-21
Friends of the Arts (FOTA) is a group that supports Fine Arts at The Lovett School, which strives to promote the development of student talent, both individually and collectively, while striving to provide an education that promotes creative learning and excellence in the arts.  

Whether your child is new to the arts, is involved in one of the many Fine Arts classes, including Sculpture, Photography, Film, Painting, Drawing, Theater Arts, Design & Production, Chorus, Orchestra, Band, Ellington Jazz Ensemble, Dance, and many more, or is part of our Conservatory of Music or Visual Arts program, our continued success depends on YOU. Over 90 percent of our students participate in the Fine Arts programs during the school year.

We hope you will consider becoming a volunteer for one of the many Friends of the Arts (FOTA) committees and showing your support by becoming a FOTA member. The Fine Arts programs are a crucial part of Lovett's philosophy of educating the whole child.

Welcome to the parent volunteer group that focuses on Lovett’s Fine Arts. During this season of disruptions, we are introducing a means of better getting to know our treasured FOTA members. You will find our “FOTA Experiences” are filled with small group activities with loads of incredible opportunities.  As a primary membership benefit, these socially distanced events will happen throughout the year and will be virtual or live and small in nature (fewer than 20 people). All of these experiences will follow the guidelines in the Lovett Pandemic Response Plan.
 
At the Benefactor level ($250), you’ll get two tickets to a Live experience and two tickets to a virtual experience.
At the Producer level ($125), you’ll get one ticket to a Live experience and two tickets  to a virtual experience.
At the Director level ($85), you’ll get two tickets  to a virtual experience.
 
These experiences will fill up quickly, so we encourage you to sign up soon. On a first-come, first-served format, the spots will be the “talk of the town. Join FOTA today so you can attend an upcoming event!

Have fun while sharing your talents and getting to know your fellow Lovett parents! Lovett is fortunate to offer our students numerous opportunities in a wide range of fine arts, so it's important that we help support the many needs of those programs, and hope you'll join one of our exciting committees today. It's truly a rewarding experience, greatly appreciated and ultimately a gift to our children.

Here's a description of positions:

LOWER SCHOOL, MIDDLE SCHOOL AND UPPER SCHOOL FOTA COMMITTEES:  Each committee will drive membership, plan Fine Arts Week and arrange spirit activities within their respective division.  

ART SHOW COMMITTEE: Assist the Art Show Co-Chairs in planning and hosting the art show, opening reception, and other related events.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE: Assist the Communications Chair in managing FOTA marketing and PR.

FOTA EXPERIENCES COMMITTEE: Assist the Co-Chairs in planning the FOTA experience events throughout the year.

PLAYBILL: Assist to procure and develop advertising for the Lovett Fine Arts Playbill.

VOLUNTEER ANGELS: To be called upon when additional help is needed for various Fine Arts events.
