2024 Science Olympiad Event Supervisor Form

Event Supervisors (ES) serve as judges for their specific event and are considered the subject matter expert. Depending on the event, ESs will either compose and grade exams or judge experiments and contraptions. 

Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Composing event exam
  • Grading event exam
  • Printing event exams
  • Answering coach inquiries  
  • Responding to team appeals  
  • Breaking ties
  • Applying point deductions (if applicable)

Event Categories are: 

  • Life, Personal & Social Science 
  • Earth and Space Science 
  • Physical Science & Chemistry 
  • Technology & Engineering 
  • Inquiry & Nature

Science Olympiad has four event descriptions: Written Exams, Build Events, Lab/ Hands-On, and Hybrid. 
Written Exam: Compose, print and grade event exam. Subject and exam parameters will be sent to you.

Build Event: Judge the participant's experiments and contraptions. Judge checklist will be provided.

Lab/ Hands-On: After completing a task, participants may have to write a report within a set timeframe.

Hybrid: Combination of two or more events. For example: exam and build event.
