Allsorts Youth Project listens to, supports & connects children & young people under 26 who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans (LGBT+) or exploring their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

Please fill out this referral form to access any of the support services Allsorts offers in the Sussex area. If you have any challenges filling out this form, please email youth@allsortsyouth.org.uk

ONE TO ONE SUPPORT

LGBT+ Youth Support Workers will work with you using a support plan to help you to identify what you need support with to reach your goals. Your support plan will be reviewed at each session.

One-to-one sessions will be based on the principles of youth work:

  • You choosing to take part
  • Utilising your view of the world
  • Treating you with respect
  • Seeking to develop your skills
  • Helping you develop stronger relationships
  • Respecting and valuing differences
  • Promoting your voice

One-to-one sessions often focus on some of these areas:

  • Sexuality and/or gender identity
  • Helping you reach your full potential
  • Increasing resilience – helping you to bounce back
  • Building and encouraging healthy relationships
  • Building self-esteem and self confidence
  • Improving communication between parents/carers, family and friends
  • Keeping yourself emotionally and physically safe
  • Offering practical support and guidance when appropriate
Our LGBT+ Youth Support Workers are not counsellors however if we feel that a counsellor or another professional would be better placed to give you support, we can discuss those options with you. You can access up to 6 individual support sessions over a period of six months with your youth support worker if you need them.

THE EVOLVE PROGRAMME
The Evolve Programme is for Sussex-based  parents/carers and their trans young people who are aged 11 - 16 and either on the waiting list for or currently being seen by the Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS) 

The Evolve Programme is designed to support families to build stronger relationships by participating in activities and workshops which will build confidence, resilience and communication skills.

Over the course of the programme we support young people and families to: 

  • Increase resilience, confidence and self-esteem
  • Develop positive family relationships
  • Build a wider community and support network
  • Provide access to fun and interesting opportunities and activities
  • Develop life skills and emotional literacy

The tailored programme will be interactive, fun, and provide young people and their families with a safe space to connect. It will take place on four Saturdays across two months and will run from 10am - 3pm

Programme 3 starts in Sept 2024. 

There is space for six families on each programme. In order to be considered for Programme 3, families will need to complete this form
