APEX Fun Run: Apex Fun Run is our biggest fundraiser and the major reason we are able to give back so much to our Huskies! Run day is April 25th and you can help with counting laps and at the hydration stations.
Book Fair: We will host at least one Book Fair this year (date TBD)! Proceeds from these events will go towards updating the school library’s collection. We are in need of a chair for this event as well as parents to set-up, run the check out booth, and tear-down.
Chuck Wagon: Be a part of history! Chuck Wagon is a HUGE annual fundraising event that the PTA has been putting on since 1938! Our goal is to provide a wonderful experience for our Huskies and families. Help with booking vendors, food, and entertainment, ticket sales, silent auction donations, and much more. Event is March 1, 2025. Planning meetings start this fall. **URGENT NEED FOR VOLUNTEERS!**
Concessions Volunteer: Help sell snacks, drinks and t-shirts at our events like Winter OMAPalooza (December), Chuckwagon (March 1) and Spring OMAPalooza (May) and more. We need help with set-up and tear down and selling concessions.
Greening Group: Whether it is helping with classroom gardening, birding, bugs, etc or helping keep our campus beautiful; your volunteering can make a difference! Year round fun!
MOEMS Club Helper: Math Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS) is an after school club for 4th and 5th graders who want to practice out-of-the-box problem solving and develop mathematical flexibility. The groups meets Wednesdays after school and our chair just needs an additional parent to help oversee the students. No math expertise required but you do need to have your
TUSD volunteer paperwork completed to help.
OMAPalooza Volunteer: Be a hero to Ms. Gascho! OMAPalooza requires quite a lot of setup and cleanup! OMAPalooza is held in December and May, dates TBA. If you would like to help Ms. Gascho with class prep please indicate that below as well!
Pancake Breakfast: Help with our most delicious community event! We need help setting up food and tables, and running games in the yard.
Science Fair: If you work in a STEM field, we need your help providing feedback to students as they put together their science fair projects (projects are required for 5th graders and optional for all other grades).We also need volunteers to judge projects - no STEM experience required, just an interest in science and critical thinking! Science Fair is February 14th and takes place online.
Spell-a-thon: Come be an essential part of our major fall fundraiser! This wonderful fundraiser promotes and rewards academic success! You can help by collecting tests, uploading test scores, filling and distributing the prize bags! Pledging opens in October and testing is at the beginning of November.
Talent Show: Every year Ms. Gascho puts on a PTA sponsored talent show to showcase Husky talent! You can help with tryouts, refining acts, organizing acts, supervising and more. You must be available October 22 and 24 for tryouts, November 7 for rehearsal and November 8 for the performance.
Tax Credit Contributions Campaign: Do you have ideas on how to generate excitement and support for Tax Credit Contributions? Join us to help bring in the necessary $90,000 + dollars our school needs to support all of our amazing offerings. The PTA works to support the gathering of Tax Credits for Sam Hughes. COMMITTEE CHAIR NEEDED THIS YEAR!
Teacher Appreciation: Help organize events and gestures of appreciation for our amazing Sam Hughes teachers throughout the year and during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5-9th). If you have creative and fun ideas, we want your help!
