The art of dance requires trust, teamwork, and cooperation. When you sign up to be part of our dance family, both parents and students agree to follow the five rules of S.P.A.R.C.:

1. Supportive (of self, other students, and the school)

2. Prepared (with proper hair, clean uniform, any equipment)

3. Attitude (be positive; have a good work ethic)

4. Respectful (to teachers, students, and studio property)

5. Consistent (class attendance; arrival and pick up)

1. Supportive:

Support yourself as a dancer and your child as a student.

Support and encourage other students, both in the classroom as well as on stage.

Be supportive of the school. If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to staff directly.

2. Prepared:

Arrive to class with hair neatly groomed and in proper uniform.

Keep uniforms clean and well-maintained, and shoes fitting properly.

Practice good personal hygiene (this may include deodorant for pre-teens / teens).

Jewelry is not permitted for safety reasons (stud earrings are OK).

Bring any necessary items for class (e.g. character outfit, fitness equipment, notebook).

3. Attitude:

Come to class with a positive attitude and good work ethic.

Openness to change, and willingness to learn and grow are essential.

Practice positive self-talk, and model this to others.

4. Respectful:

Ballet is an art form that relies on tradition, etiquette and respect.

Be respectful to teachers, parents, and other students.

Respect includes the studio space and equipment as well; put items away after use and treat the studio space with care and cleanliness.

Students are to take care with teaching aids (such as the skeleton, balls, rollers, etc.). They are not toys and should only be touched under direction of a teacher.

5. Consistent:

Consistent weekly attendance of all classes is essential to proper safety and learning. Missing many classes is unsafe and may result in losing opportunities (e.g. solo roles, attending competitions, dancing en pointe, entrance to RAD exams, etc.)

Plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early; arriving before class allows proper preparation.

Parents/guardians need to be consistently on-time for student pick up. (Student safety is very important: please be aware we cannot watch students before or after class time).

A fee may be charged for late pick-ups.
