Her Story, Her Journey, Her Rights: Transformational Growth in the Face of Adversity

Her Migrant Hub's Fall 2024 symposium will feature a screening of En Tiempo Prestado (On Borrowed Time), a documentary written, directed, and produced by Martín Blanco that tells the powerful story of Niurka, a mother, wife, community organizer, asylum-seeker, and forced migrant from Venezuela living in New York City as she awaits the result of the asylum application she submitted eight years ago and nurtures the migrant-support organization she founded while in limbo. 

An interactive panel on core challenges and current responses to immigrant issues will be held following the screening of the film. The evening will conclude with a resource fair connecting community grassroots organizations working toward serving forced migrants in NYC.
