The Nashville Food Project utilizes a standardized fee structure across all community gardens to ensure equitable access to land. Plot fees are required for growers who manage plots individually or with friends and family.

Garden plot fees include access to a set volume of compost, as well as tools, access to the Garden Resource Center, and water catchment at each site.

Plot Sizes:

Raised bed of any size: $50.00 per year includes 2 Wheelbarrows of Compost ** McGruder Community Garden Growers: This is your only option.
250 square foot plot: $75.00 per year includes 4 Wheelbarrows of Compost
500 square foot plot: $100 per year includes 6 Wheelbarrows of Compost

* Each additional wheelbarrow of compost is $12.00.

**Community gardeners may request a 50% discount on plot fees. Discounted rates are available for gardeners who self-identify as recipients of SNAP/WIC/Medicaid and/or other government support programs. You may request a discounted rate in the section below.

The Garden Resource Center, formally known as "The Garden Store", is funded through annual plot fees and is an additional amenity for gardeners. Growers will have access to seeds, row cover cloth, insecticidal soaps, fertilizer, etc., (starter plants not included) at no additional cost. Supplies are limited. A sharing resource system will be launched during the opening day of the garden.

General Garden Maintenance Requirement

We are initiating a shared approach to garden maintenance this year. Individual plot growers are required to complete 10 service hours annually of general garden maintenance to ensure community agricultural sites are inviting, well-maintained and accessible to all people. Guidelines and training will be provided. Specific details will be available during the opening day of the garden.
