Intro to JavaScript: Student Application
Have you wanted to learn to code but didn't know how to start? Or maybe you've taken the coding classes your school has to offer, but you're excited to learn a new coding language?

Do you like problem solving and video games?

This fall, Mystery Code Society is offering Intro to JavaScript, a free code class at DoSpace for middle and high school students who identify as femme or female. This includes students who were not assigned female at birth and those who identify as femme, gender fluid, or gender non‐conforming.

Students will learn fundamentals of code in JavaScript including:
- data types and variable assignments
- loops
- conditionals
- functions
- callbacks and asynchronous functions

Participants do NOT need prior coding experience OR a computer of their own to take this class.

This class will prepare students for our intermediate JavaScript Games class, where you can build and share your own video game. The JavaScript Games class will be in the winter of 2020 (January - March).

This 6 week course meets at Do Space on Sundays from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, from October 6 - November 10.

This application is due by September 25th.
