Food in Care charter consultation
Food in Care programme and its partners are committed to supporting children in care and care leavers to have a healthy relationship with food. Good nutrition and positive food practices are likely to have a positive impact on the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of children in care.

The Food in Care survey is an opportunity for foster carers, connected carers, adopters, residential staff, managers, LAC nurses, Independent Reviewing Officers, and other professionals to share their views about the support that is currently available around nutrition and food behaviour issues often encountered in care settings. This survey will look at what support is currently available, what are the gaps, and how things could be changed or improved. This will inform whether there is a need to develop a Food in Care charter to tackle poor health outcomes of children in care.
