Criminal Justice in Action Summer School 2018
The NGO StateWatch, in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, invites law students, LLM students, law graduates, and NGO lawyers working or interested in working in the field of criminal justice, to apply to participate in the “Criminal Justice in Action” summer school. It will be conducted from July 21-27, 2018, near Dnipro city, Ukraine.

The main goal of the summer school is to develop future criminal justice professionals who are motivated to further reforms within the criminal justice system.

Participants will receive both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, particularly in analyzing and resolving legal situations during criminal investigations and court proceedings. Different types of activities, such as role playing (conducting searches, direct and cross examinations, preparing opening and closing court statements, etc.) guided by leading experts and practitioners from Ukraine and the United States, will provide participants with practical knowledge on all aspects related to investigating and prosecuting crimes, particularly crimes involving corruption. The daily sessions will be interactive and include briefings, workshops, discussions, and mock trials.
