Africana Journal Club Membership Registration Form

We invite you register to become a member of the Africana Journal Club (AJC). AJC is a community of African researchers, both emerging and experienced. Our members include postgraduate students, lecturers, independent researchers, consultants, and anyone who enjoys telling stories while utilising various research methodologies. We meet together to improve our research abilities, as well as to encourage, motivate, and applaud one another. Eider Africa, an African-led and women founded organisation based in Kenya, launched the club.

In our club, members deliver group research mentorship activities in the spirit of peer mentoring, inclusion, open sharing, ethical practice, ubuntu, and volunteerism. Some of the activities include: research webinars , critically appraising research papers collaboratively, shut up and write sessions, sharing research opportunities, individual mentorship calls and open research presentation sessions and research Q &A sessions. Our goal is to support members with skills to work on their research projects and not to do the research project for them. The goal of our research mentorship activities is not just for members to complete their studies and graduate it is to transform and become researchers and professionals who are collaborative, reflexive, critical and ethical. 

In order for us to strengthen our approaches collectively, we would want to officially register members so that we have a record of the researchers in our club, their research strengths, and needs. Once we know more about you, we will be able to tailor our activities to your preferences. We would also like to share with you a monthly newsletter via email and invite you to join the new Africana Journal Club WhatsApp page.
