Our goal is to provide sustainable solutions to poverty with wrap-around services through the J. L. King Community Center. Step 1: Our 60 K challenge is looking for sixty individuals, organizations, or churches to commit 1K out of their budget each year for five years to make programming sustainable.
Step 2: Involve more volunteers so that we understand issues facing residents living in poverty.
Step 3: Mentor participants on a case by case basis. What does THIS family need? What steps do they need to take to reach their goals? What assistance do they need in obtaining jobs, housing, health care, or transportation?
Step 4: Advocate for housing and transportation improvements locally to provide more access for people trying to move out of poverty.
