The unification analysis will require a lot of volunteers. Working with our consultant David Weinberg, we have currently organized the different tasks among six committees, as outlined below.
A few points to consider:
- Note that these are WORKING COMMITTEES. Volunteers should expect an approximate time requirement of approximately 20 hours over the next few months.
- This is not the only time we will ask for volunteers! You will have more chances to get involved, particularly as the committees determine what expertise is required.
The committees are:
- Finance - Assess the financial situation of both PZ and ST. Examine how a unified organization would deal with existing accounting and banking setups. Examine fundraising efforts in both organizations, consider how a unified organization would approach fundraising. Led by David Weinberg
- Building - Determine the building needs for a unified organization. Assess the deferred maintenance debts on each physical structure. Perform a capacity analysis for a unified organization. Consider different building options and related zoning requirements. Led by Macy Kisilinsky
- Operations - Assess existing contracts, HR, insurances, leases, licenses, security commitments and needs, and cemeteries in both organizations. Estimate the needs under a unified organization. Led by Barb Feige
- Legal - Review constitution, bylaws, and governance structure of each organization. Determine compliance commitments. Identify any areas of potential conflict, propose how these could be resolved under a unified organization. Led by Richard Levine
- Community - Review programming, clubs, youth group activities in both organizations (including kiddush and simchas). Examine communications strategies of both organizations, including public meetings. Identify any areas of improvement or conflict between the organizations and propose how these could be resolved under a unified organization. Led by Chana Greenspan
- Ritual - Review the different religious practices and halachic decision-making approaches between the organizations. Determine how these could be handled under a unified organization. Led by Rabbi Genack and Rabbi Yolkut.
NOTE: This committee is not seeking community volunteers; the Rabbis will reach out to individuals as necessary.
Please let us know below whether you're interested in participating in a committee (and if so how to reach you).
