KAHAL INTERN APPLICATION
KAHAL connects Jewish students studying abroad to exciting and unique opportunities in their host Jewish communities. Working in more than 30 countries and 60 cities around the world, KAHAL helps Jewish students find their Jewish home abroad. By connecting with KAHAL, students abroad can connect with each other and the local Jewish communities in which they study abroad. KAHAL further enhances students’ study abroad experience by providing opportunities for social connections, Shabbat dinners, holiday events, cultural experiences, internships, volunteer opportunities, and more. Overview
As a KAHAL Intern, you would be responsible for expanding KAHAL’s reach on your campus. Your role would be to identify and connect with out-going study abroad students, helping KAHAL provide students with the best experience possible. You would also have the opportunity to work with study abroad alumni, helping reintegrate Jewish students into your campus Jewish community.
Responsibilities
As a KAHAL intern,  you will be responsible for cultivating a community of Jewish study abroad participants, which will provide value to students before, during, and after their abroad experience. You will build this community through networking, intentional conversations, and creative experiences.

As a KAHAL intern, you will be expected to:
• Identify and meet engagement goals, as established by your Hillel and KAHAL;
• Plan and implement at least one program per semester aimed at engaging out-going study abroad students;
• Plan and implement at least one program per semester providing Jewish study abroad alumni with an opportunity to share their experiences abroad with their peers.

You will be expected to communicate bi-weekly with KAHAL’s Campus Operations Director, Rebecca Schwab, to share progress made toward engagement goals. In tandem with your supervisor and KAHAL, and through these bi-weekly calls, you will create a plan for each semester, developing programming for the study abroad population, and brainstorming new strategies to identify and engage the study abroad community.

The ideal candidate for this internship is a study abroad alumnus/a who is approachable, dynamic, engaging, and passionate about Study Abroad experiences!
