Re-Imagining Civics Education Event Registration
The UCSC Education Department, the Central California Writing Project, and the History & Civics Project at UC Santa Cruz are excited to invite you to this in-person event on May 7th for K-16 teachers of all disciplines and school administrators.

Together, we will reimagine civics in education with a focus on freedom dreaming and building a more just future. We will apply what we learn to our  teaching contexts, and collaborate with others to launch literacy rich curriculum and instruction for informed civic action and youth engagement. 

Schedule:
9:30-10:00: Coffee & Welcome
10:00-12:15: Keynote Address & Discussion
12:15-2:30: Interactive work time with Drs. Mirra & Garcia
*Join for the morning's events or for the full day. Afternoon attendees will ideally work in teams or partners.

Location: The event will take place at the Resource Center for Nonviolence, 612 Ocean St, Santa Cruz, CA 95060

This is a COVID safe event. Proof of vaccination is required.

This event is free for educators but we welcome donations of a can of food for the Second Harvest Food Bank or a new book for a student.
