Are you a Local Official involved in Floodplain Management? Have questions about flood mitigation, mapping or regulations? Attend the NJAFM Conference! The New Jersey Association for Floodplain Management (NJAFM) is supporting the education of NJ local officials involved in floodplain management by offering scholarships to the 2019 NJAFM Conference.
This conference is intended for attendees of diverse backgrounds including engineers, planners, code officials, floodplain managers, emergency management officials and other professionals involved in floodplain management. The 2 1/2 day annual conference is an opportunity to network and exchange ideas while acquiring the latest technical, regulatory and flood risk information. The scholarship is for the registration cost of the 2 1/2 day conference. Any travel or lodging costs remain the responsibility of the attendee.
To apply for a scholarship, you must be a NJAFM Local Official Member in good-standing or have recently submitted a membership application. A local official is considered to be an individual involved in the flood risk field, or working in the capacity of mayor, floodplain administrator, CRS coordinator, code official or emergency manager. The individual MUST work for a local governmental jurisdiction. Scholarship preference will be given to first-time attendees.
Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling, first-come basis, but applications must be made prior to September 1st.
