Thank you for taking time to submit your pitch to Sixty Inches From Center! If you haven't already, please review the pitch guidelines.

Sixty welcomes writers and artists of all experience levels and backgrounds to pitch ideas for traditional and experimental arts writing as well as creative writing around topics and practices that are relevant to the cultural landscapes of the Midwest.

Priority will be given to writing by, about, and for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ artists, artists with disabilities, and the long list of writing, art-making, and cultural practices that have been neglected in mainstream conversations and canons. We publish writing, photography, art, archive materials, video, and conversations that are thoughtful, generative, experimental, and relatable to our variety of readers.

Our editorial team meets twice a month to go through pitches. Please note that if your pitch isn't accepted initially, we'll often ask for clarification or revision rather than discarding the pitch altogether.

I acknowledge that, if my pitch is accepted, my writing will be subject to review by an editor and a piece will be published only when myself and my editor have reached consensus on a draft’s quality.

I acknowledge that, while I retain the creative rights to my own writing, I have no ownership over imagery used in or created in conjunction to my writing. If I want to utilize said imagery in any publication or on social media, I will reach out to Sixty’s visual editor, Ireashia, (ireashia@sixtyinchesfromcenter.org) to request usage and with any questions

I understand that Sixty doesn't republish work. I will notify my editor if the work I'm pitching is accepted elsewhere for publication and I understand that my piece will be withdrawn from Sixty.
