2017 Battle of the High School Bands
WHERE: Buffalo Iron Works – 49 Illinois Street, Buffalo
WHEN:Saturday, May 20, 2017 Doors/Load in at 1pm, show starts at 2pm
WHAT:Bands will play three songs each for a total set length maximum of 15 minutes.

• Each band member must sign the release form & waiver and return to Music is Art at 617 Main Street, Suite 220, Buffalo NY 14203 or email it to info@musicisart.org
• Bands will receive enough comp tickets for the band members only. Other tickets are available for $10 each in advance or $15 at the door.
• An online ticket purchase link will be sent to you soon to share with family, friends, and fans.
• The show is all ages, under 16 with a parent or adult.
• Performance must be positive and include no profanity.
• Backline will be provided; no need to bring amps, monitors, PA; a standard drum kit will
be provided. Please bring only your guitars, or horns, etc. If you require a keyboard
that cannot be brought in, please let us know.
• We will be emailing you an electronic poster to use on your websites and Facebook
pages to assist us in promoting the show.

- First prize is a main stage slot at the 15th annual Music is Art Festival on Saturday, September 9, 2017, Recording time at GCR Audio, Mastering for one track, and a professional photo shoot with legendary concert photographer Bob Mussell, or other photographer depending on schedules.
- Second prize is a slot at the 15th annual Music is Art Festival.
- Third prize is a slot at the 15th annual Music is Art Festival.

JUDGING (Bands are scored on the following):
- Stage presence and preparedness
- Sound, volume & clarity
- Band synchronicity
- Song quality & choice
- Band enthusiasm & attitude o Audience response
