The Committee for Greater LA community put forward a vision for a more equitable Los Angeles. The Committee remains committed to continuing our efforts to address our region’s most intractable problems - including homelessness, Anti-Black racism, broadband equity, and equitable support of the nonprofit sector.

With the approaching leadership transitions in the City of LA and the county, we have an exciting opportunity to push forward the objectives of the Committee and our Action Teams through various channels, including the Los Angeles City Commissions. 

We want to elevate the voices of those with lived expertise and those from underrepresented areas on LA City Commissions because these issues disproportionately impact these groups. Currently, Latinx Angelenos make up 25% of commissioners, while Black Angelenos make up only 16% of commissioners.

We are asking for your help to increase the representation of BIPOC Angelenos by nominating yourself or someone you know to serve on a commission. See a full list of commissions here. 

Individuals from the CGLA community share our passion for the Committee’s priorities, and we are seeking individuals who are interested in serving as Chairs or members of the various Commissions that will impact homelessness, broadband internet access, nonprofit equity, and, most notably, the Black experience in LA.

If you are interested in pursuing a seat on a Commission or would like to submit the name of someone you think should serve, please fill out this form. We will compile the names and biographies of interested people and submit them to the Mayoral transition team. Please submit your names before the end of the year.
