Thank you for your interest in being featured in Dragon's Lair Artist Emporium, the first ever, truly indie author bookstore! We are a startup, and as such we will be evolving this business model as we mature.

Dragon's Lair Artist Emporium is a startup bookstore, gourmet chocolate and artisan shop, that seeks to feature the best and brightest in independently published books, chocolate & art.

Phase one is about onboarding our authors. We will be selective in the books we bring into the store, as the books we host will:

a) Reflect on our brand
b) Be judged against traditionally published books
c) Ensure the quality of the books we host are what we say - the best indie published books on the planet.

We cannot accept all. If you are not accepted, we will reach out to you with recommendations on what you can do to ensure your book meets industry standards. Your book will be judged by:

1) Professionalism of the cover: This does not mean you have to have had it made by someone or have paid a high price. We will be judging your book by it's cover - the same as every customer will be doing when they stop on your page. Make sure it represents the best version of you.

2) Edited and formatted to meet quality standards acceptable for the industry.

3) Content: We will not accept books that are defaming or degrading. While we will accept controversial books in both the fiction and non fiction arenas, they cannot incite hatred, encourage racism or project views that cause division. This site is not your soap box. Keep it for your own website. Should we feel that your content is too controversial, we will ask that you submit it to another site.

By agreeing to be hosted in the store you are committing to:

1) Having a minimum stock of ten books reserved for the exclusive use of Dragon's Lair Artist Emporium.
2) That all books will be sent out as signed copies and numbered as such, by a numbering system we will provide you with.
3) Be willing to ship books direct to the consumer (cost of shipping paid by us)
4) Agree to use the Dragon's Lair logo and promotional inserts on shipped materials (letterhead, thank you - downloadable, peel & stick stickers)

Our agreement with you is that:

1) We will provide the website, the cost of all marketing, promotion and materials for a basic listing on our site.
2) We will provide free of charge all marketing, promotional and shipping materials to you, or pay for the cost of same to be supplied to you.
3) We will price your book on our website at our discretion, and we reserve the right to change the price of the book at any time, including discounting it.
4) We reserve the right to bundle your book into promotional groupings and/or loote crate type offerings.
5) We will pay for your reserved ten copies up front to guarantee this stock is available, at an agreed rate.
6) Payment to authors will be made by e-transfer within Canada and by Paypal for non Canadian authors.
7) We are currently working on a model of payment of 30% over print & ship costs. We will only pay for one round of shipping, so you will need to choose if you wish to primarily ship from your home, or drop ship copies to our storefront.
