LEGO Mindstorms Summer Experience Application
The Memphis Public Libraries' Summer LEGO Mindstorms Camp, made possible by The Irvin Lansky Foundation, will introduce rising 4th - 7th grade children (children ages 9-12) to building and programming robots using LEGO Mindstorms. Students will learn mechanical design, construction, programming, and teamwork skills. Students will work in small teams using LEGO blocks, motors, and sensors. Students use a computer to program the robot to move, react, and makes sounds in order to solve challenges.

Students may choose 1 of 4 camp sites to apply to:

Monday, June 4th - Wednesday, June 6th

In consideration of being permitted to participate in Memphis Public Libraries' Summer LEGO Mindstorms Experience Camp, I voluntarily agree to indemnify, release and hold harmless the City of Memphis, Memphis Public Libraries and its officers, agents, employees and volunteers from any and all costs, liabilities, expenses, claims, compensation, demands, causes of action on account of any loss or personal injury to me that might result from my participation in the Summer LEGO Mindstorms Experience Camp, whether arising through my own negligence, omission, default, or that of the Libraries. As with any activity, there are certain inherent and unforeseen risks and losses that cannot be prevented. Should your student require emergency medical treatment as a result of illness, injury or accident during the Summer LEGO Mindstorms Experience Camp, I authorize such aid or other treatment as may be necessary under the circumstances, to include treatment by a physician or hospital of which I agree to be solely responsible for any associated cost. I will notify the Memphis Public Libraries in writing if I have any medical conditions (e.g., allergies, asthma, epilepsy, bee-string reactions, etc.) that may limit the extent of my physical abilities/participation and about which emergency personnel should be informed. In addition, I understand that with this Informed Consent & Release, I am expressly granting the Memphis Public Libraries/City of Memphis permission to use and release my likeness in either photographic or videographic format for future promotional use.
