Hosting a GLOBE North American Region Meeting (NARM)
To be considered as a host for a GLOBE North America Region Meeting (NARM) involves two steps:

Step 1) complete this form to be reviewed by GIO for adequate meeting facilities.
Step 2) present Power Point at NARM to propose your site as the next NARM meeting location


GIO has a limited budget for catering, A/V, meeting room rental or other potential meeting costs. All costs must be pre-approved by GIO.

The NARM is a 2-day meeting, that typically includes additional days for a GLOBE Professional Learning Workshop and the US Partner Forum meeting. Therefore, the total number of days for the combined meetings is 4-5. Some partners may also have side meetings. The side meetings are not planned by the Host Partner or GIO.

As a Host Partner you are required to be a member of the NARM Organizing Committee, which is also composed of US Partner Forum members and previous NARM hosts.

Host Responsibilities:

Work closely with GIO Director, GIO Program Coordinator and NARM Organizing Committee to plan all aspects of the event

Organize all meeting logistics including: Identify meeting room requirements, meeting room coordination and onsite management and set up. Provide materials including flip charts, stickies, pens/markers, participant name badges and lanyards (and other meeting materials as defined during the planning process)

Act as main point of contact for catering arrangements and Audio/Visual needs. Coordinate with GIO for final decisions. (GIO is responsible for financial contracts/purchase orders and payments for these service.)

Contacting registrants including: Calls to register, welcome letter, additional information for participants, agenda creation, provide content for NARM website (that GIO will post), locate and invite possible keynotes.

Raising funds for reception on the first evening of the NARM.

Monitor registrations and alert GIO if capacity has been reached and registration must be closed.

Provide GIO with written content for the NARM web page

Invite local officials or others to welcome participants at the beginning of the NARM


GIO Responsibilities:

Provide registration platform

Provide host with regularly updated registrants lists

NARM Web page on globe.gov - create and add content to event web page

GIO is responsible for financial contracts/purchase orders and payments for hotel room blocks, meeting spaces, catering and Audio/Visual needs. Information provided by the Host Partner.
