About us: The Lewisburg Community  Garden is located on the corner of St. Anthony Street and N. Water Street in Downtown Lewisburg. Besides offering plot rentals, the Garden donates organic produce to local meal programs and food pantries, provides summer learning opportunities for college students, and offers space for community events. The Lewisburg Community Garden is a non-profit enterprise that relies on donations, fundraisers, and community volunteers in order to sustain its programming.  Learn more at: https://lewisburgcommunitygarden.blogs.bucknell.edu/

About this application:
  • There are 38 plots available for rent. If more than 38 applications are received by the deadline, a lottery will be held to determine who will receive a plot. We encourage people to join with neighbors, family, and friends to share plots, allowing more people to access the Garden. If selected to receive a plot, you will pay your garden fee, sign a garden member contract, and attend an orientation session before you can begin gardening.
  • Sliding Scale Garden membership fee this season: Please use the scale below in order to self-identify where you fall and the amount you are comfortable paying for your plot. We are using this sliding scale as a way to ensure that all gardeners who wish to join us can afford to participate and the garden expenses are shared among garden plot renters according to their financial ability.  **Your financial information will not be distributed.**
Veterans, refugees, formerly incarcerated and other likely financially-impacted groups = Free
EBT/SNAP users = $10
Low income/wealth = $20
Middle income/wealth = $30
Upper income/ wealth = $40
Generous Contributor = $60
  • Garden members are encouraged to volunteer in various ways throughout the season to support the Garden. Every gardener can find a way to help out in the garden, whether that's by turning compost, mentoring a new gardener, or lending a hand in the community-side of the garden during regular volunteer hours.

Some factors you may want to consider include how much food you want to grow for your household, how much time you can commit to tending your garden, raised beds require less bending over, but usually need more watering.
2nd Choice Plot preference: *
If you have a 2nd choice, mark that here:
Do you need a raised bed or special plot placement because of limited mobility or any other reason?
Clear selection
If you selected "Yes" above and feel comfortable, could you please share what accommodations would be most useful (i.e. raised bed 1’ tall, raised bed table height, near hose, wider pathways, closer to parking spots)
Are you interested in sharing a plot? *
The Lewisburg Community Garden has limited space, and sharing a plot will allow more people to receive a plot.
If you marked yes to sharing a plot, do you have a garden partner in mind? Or would you like to be assigned a partner?
~Strawberry Break~ (We have shared strawb beds for everyone to enjoy and I can't wait for us to snack on them this summer)
Why are you interested in joining the community garden? What are your interests for growing with us this season?
Helping the garden thrive is a team effort. Garden members are encouraged to volunteer to give back to the garden in some way. Sharing your gifts can take many forms!
