Talk SynopsisHelp me help my child cope with Exam Stress (CCT-P13-2016S) HELP! I am NOT taking the exam but I AM stressed out! Exam stress is a natural reaction to too much pressure and can come from a number of sources. Parents who want guidance on how to help their children, AND themselves through the stressful exam process can use a variety of strategies to help them cope. This highly interactive workshop will address the following: 1) What are your concerns as a parent? 2) Identifying the stressors associated with exams 3) Time management & Goal setting4) Useful strategies that can help YOU and your CHILD navigate in the weeks leading to the exam. This programme uses case studies and experiential learning to reinforce strategies learnt.NUS and the younger studying in US.
Speaker ProfileMr Halbert Louis began his career as a Civil Engineer having graduated from NTU in 1988. He then proceeded to give up his Engineering career to serve as a pastor leading churches in various cities in South East Asia for 20 years. During that time he had the opportunity of mentoring the youth, working adults and married couples. In 2011, he obtained his Master’s in Counselling and proceeded to serve as an ITE life-skills lecturer working with the youth in ITE Central. Since 2012, Halbert started his own company running corporate mental wellness workshops and family oriented programs. He has conducted numerous parenting workshops in different schools in Singapore for the past 5 years. In 2014, he obtained his accreditation in Triple P. As a registered counsellor with SAC, he also offers counselling services especially marriage and family counselling. He has been married for 24 years and has two daughters, ages 23 and 21; older one just graduated from NUS and the younger studying in US.
