Local educator Roger Steel was an advocate for education and for underserved populations. To honor his service as
monca’s Board President from 2020-21, the monca Board of Directors is launching a program to increase museum access for at-risk and underserved children in Butte County schools. The Roger Steel Museum Experience Program will offset the cost of field trips (including bus travel) for children who might not otherwise be able to attend.
The museum has kicked off the program with a $3000 allocation for 2022. This will support 6-10 class field trips to monca during this first year, depending on the level of funding requested and the distance to be travelled.
Please fill out this form to apply for funding for your class and students to attend monca for a field trip. This program provides funds for field trips to monca in order to give students throughout Butte County the opportunity to explore more of the world outside the classroom. Funds may be used to cover field trip-related costs such as transportation, ticket fees, resource materials, and supplies.
